Chapter 15 of the book of Judges records the story typically titled Samson Burns Philistine Crops – a lot of Philistine crops… But what is perhaps most significant here is the effortless way in which he does it – putting the fox, an otherwise devious and nefarious creature – to work in his employ. It’s a metaphor of sorts, destroying the wicked and ungodly with itself. In that sense, this category is intended to be simple snippets wired together, often to and for their mutual undoing.
