COVID-19: Full Circle

The masses have never thirsted after truth. Whoever can supply them with illusions is easily their master; whoever attempts to destroy their illusions is always their victim.

Gustave Le Bon, Psychologie des Foules [The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind] (1895)

…the less practically meaningful … a behavior is, the better it serves its function as a ritual. The more absurd it is, the better it serves a function as a ritual. And, the more sacrifices it demands, the better it functions as a ritual…

Mattias Desmet

the systematic effort to undermine and destroy a person’s values and beliefs, as by the use of prolonged interrogation, drugs, torture, etc., and to induce radically different ideas.Dictionary.com

A dear friend just sent me this Gateway Pundit article:

From the article:

[Toby] Rogers sums it up as follows:

So, to put it simply, the Biden administration plan would kill 5,248 children via Pfizer mRNA shots in order to save 45 children from dying of coronavirus.

For every one child saved by the shot, another 117 would be killed by the shot.

The Pfizer mRNA shot fails any honest risk-benefit analysis in children ages 5 to 11.

Wow… That’s pretty straightforward, and all right there in a nutshell… Can we just call it what it is; child sacrifice? Horrifying to watch as we have retreated to the ‘dark ages’ of superstition and witchcraft… Maybe if we throw a virgin in the volcano, we can appease the COVID gods… No…? How about another virgin…? Or another, and another, and another… When does this madness end…?

I have a foreboding of an America in my children’s or grandchildren’s time—when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what’s true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness. [emphasis added]

Pointing to group-think master manipulator Gustave Le Bon’s research, Professor Mattias Desmet reminds us when mass formation occurs in a population, the more harsh and absurd the ritual(s), the more likely people are to follow them.

…what happens in a process of mass formation, someone is grabbed so much in a narrative that he accepts the most absurd consequences of the narrative, even if it costs him his own life.

It’s something quite strange, I think, that the masses always long for a severe and cruel leader, Gustave Le Bon said. … We come from a very individualist age in which people tried to find meaning in their own lives, in their own way. But, actually in a strange way, now we see how the opposite emerges, this is that; people want to lose themselves in the masses, in the crowd, as if they are looking for a leader who tells them what to do. That’s one of the most specific aspects of mass formation, I think, that it makes people long for a harsh leader. Gustave Le Bon describes it already. And if the leaders of the masses understand this, they understand that they can be as absurd as they want, that they can be as harsh as the want, that they can impose the most absurd limitations to individuals lives. It will only make mass formation stronger, and it will only make the leaders more popular.

The corona measures–the lockdowns, the social distancing, the mask wearing, and so on–actually have the function, unconsciously, of a ritual, … meaning, a kind of behavior that, as the only function has to create a social bond. And the less practically meaningful such a behavior is, the better it serves its function as a ritual. The more absurd it is, the better it serves a function as a ritual. And, the more sacrifices it demands, the better it functions as a ritual, because in this way, the individual that sacrifices something shows that the collective, the group, the cohesion among the group members is more important than what is important to the individual. That’s exactly how rituals function. Rituals have to be pragmatically meaningless, useless, and they have to demand sacrifices of the individual. And that’s exactly what the corona measures do. They are absurd, without practical relevance, most of them. And also, they imply huge losses for the individuals. Which makes [corona measures] very useful, very suitable as rituals for the new cohesion, the new collective, the new solidarity. [emphasis added]

If you’re not very familiar with the subject(s) of group-think, indoctrination, initiation rituals, mass formation, mass psychosis, and mass psychogenic illness, then perhaps read this, and / or watch any of the videos in this playlist:

If this moment, this COVID ‘episode’ (an interesting word) has ‘taught’ me (reminded me of) anything, it’s that no matter the allure, psycho-seduction, and beguilement of so-called science and technology, the mythological compartmentalization of life into ‘secular’ and ‘religious’ etc. is nothing more than another tactic to draw man away from the Lord. Seeking to fracture and fragment mankind, to deconstruct12 him–to raze him–ostensibly to reconstruct him–to raise him like the Phoenix from the ashes–only to in actuality send him to hell in the process. Make no mistake; none of this is by accident.34

The point is, I now see very clearly, more clearly than ever before, that EVERY step ‘forward’ we take under the specious guise of ‘progress’ (regress) is another step further from the Lord, and another step quite literally toward hell.

For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools,

Romans 1:21–22 [NASB95]

And like any other addiction, it feeds on itself. So, each failure inevitably leads the masses to cling increasingly to their kidnapper(s) in Stockholm Syndrome fashion, only to keep failing / falling ‘forward’ (backward) toward hell… This isn’t revelatory. But, it’s been kind of a ‘full circle’ moment of sorts for me… I see it all clearly now, and I realize that the only book REALLY worth reading is the Bible

And I set my mind to know wisdom and to know madness and folly; I realized that this also is striving after wind. Because in much wisdom there is much grief, and increasing knowledge [results in] increasing pain.

Ecclesiastes 1:17–18 [NASB95]

(Propaganda) proceeds by psychological manipulations, character modifications, by creation of stereotypes useful when the time comes – The two great routes that this sub-propaganda takes are the conditioned reflex and the myth.

Jacques Ellul

…because of the myth of progress, it is much easier to sell a man an electric razor than a straight-edged one.

Jacques Ellul

So I can very well say without hesitation that all those who have political power, even if they use it well have acquired it by demonic mediation and even if they are not conscious of it, they are worshippers of diabolos.

Jacques Ellul

Enclosed within his artificial creation, man finds that there is “no exit”; that he cannot pierce the shell of technology again to find the ancient milieu to which he was adapted for hundreds of thousands of years.

Jacques Ellul

But beyond this, my son, be warned: the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion [to books] is wearying to the body. The conclusion, when all has been heard, [is:] fear God and keep His commandments, because this [applies to] every person.

Ecclesiastes 12:12–13 [NASB95]

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. … Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it. [emphasis added]

Matthew 7:7–8, 13–14 [NASB95]
